Fujian Normal University (FNU) is a high-level university jointly built by the Ministry of Education and Fujian Provincial People's Government, a key and a first-class university in Fujian Province, and one of Fujian Province's second batch of Double First-class universities. It is also one of the earliest normal universities in China. Founded as Fujian Excellent Normal School in 1907 by the famous late-Qing scholar Chen Baochen, who once served as the teacher of China’s last emperor. The present day FNU went through a few changes—merging with the former Hwa-Nan Women’s College of Arts and Sciences, Fukien Christian University and Fujian Provincial Teachers School respectively—to form Fujian Teachers College in 1953. In 1972, the University was renamed Fujian Normal University and has been thus referred to since then.
Located in Fuzhou, the capital city of Fujian province, the University consists of two campuses: Qishan and Cangshan, with a total land area of about 266 hectares. FNU offers 84 undergraduate programs, 21 primary discipline doctoral programs, 34 primary discipline master programs. The University also has 22 professional master programs. Academic programs cover 9 major areas in literature, history, physics, engineering, pedagogy, economics, law, business management, and art. Currently, there are over 24,000 full time undergraduate students, more than 10,000 graduate students, over 200 doctoral supervisors, more than 1,000 master supervisors and over 1,800-full-timeteaching and auxiliary staff in the main campuses. Its faculty counts 63.57% professors or associate professors and 65.54% doctorate degree holders.
Situated in the core area of the 21st century Maritime Silk Road and adjacent to Taiwan, Hongkong and Macao, FNU takes full advantage of this privileged location to develop its international exchanges and cooperation. Currently, the University has established friendly and cooperative relations with more than 130 universities and institutions in the USA, UK, Italy, Australia, Japan, Philippines, with UNESCO, and pragmatic cooperation with over 40 universities in Taiwan have been launched.
Founded in November, 2017 and sponsored by the Friends of the Philippines Foundation, Soledad College is established by Fujian Normal University to admit and cultivate students from the Philippines under the background of implementing the One Belt and One Road initiative. So as to deepen the cooperation of higher education between the two countries.
Soledad College is named after Soledad Roa Duterte (Nanay Soling) not only to commemorate the great mother who has the family ties with Fujian Province, a famous Filipino educator, philanthropist and social activist, but also to celebrate the legacy of courage, commitment and compassion left behind by Nanay Soling. Soledad College hopes to carry forward the spirit of dedication to inspire young people to work towards national progress, economic development, and social harmony.
With the support of the Friends of the Philippines Foundation and the Federation of Fil-Chinese Association of the Philippines Foundation, Inc.(FFCAP), Soledad College mainly enrolls Filipino students for undergraduate and master's degrees. It occasionally organizes seminars and training for officials, senior executives of industrial and commercial enterprises from the Philippines. The College helps in expanding the education and cultural exchanges and cooperation between the Philippines and Fujian Province, and promotes the development of the China-Philippine relation.

II. Application Requirements
Interested applicants should meet the following requirements:
1. Should be 2023 freshly graduated students who have received formal education in public schools in the Philippines and accomplished the 12-year basic education system.
2. Should be a citizen of Republic of the Philippines who is under 22 years old and holds a valid passport.
3. Physical condition must be in lined with the “Health Inspection Standards for Foreign Students Studying in China” as promulgated by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (Refer to Notes for Application(Click to view)).
4. Should abide by the laws and regulations of People’s Republic of China, and school disciplines.
5. Students should have taken Chinese courses, be able understand spoken Chinese and speak Chinese, hold the YCT (Youth Chinese test) or HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) qualification report issued by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of the PRC (the former Confucius Institute Headquarters).
III. Registration Procedures
1. Graduates of SPFL-Chinese Mandarin program who meet the registration conditions shall apply to the SPFL-Chinese Mandarin Schools. Schools will send its recommended students to Each DepEd region. Each DepEd region will submit Consolidated Recommendation Form Undergraduate Degree Scholarship Program for SPFL-Chinese Mandarin Graduates to DepEd-SPFL Office. DepEd-SPFL Office and CI-AUF will screen the applicants. DepEd-SPFL Office will recommend qualified applicants to Fujian Normal University. Graduates from other schools shall directly apply to Soledad College, Fujian Normal University via email.
2. Qualified applicants will submit the documentary requirments before June 9, 2023 to the Soledad College, FNU, including:
①Application Form (Chinese Language Major) for 2023.(Download)
②Official Senior High School Academic Certificate (Diploma) which should be authenticated by the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines.
③Official Transcripts of Records which should be authenticated by the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines.
④YCT (Youth Chinese test) or HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) qualification report.
⑤Two Letters of recommendation from the graduated high school’s principal, classroom teacher and/or the Chinese teacher of the Chinese courses.
⑥Six recent glossy studio photos (48mm×33mm) with white background.
⑦Photocopy of the applicants’ passport main page. When entering China, the passport must be valid more than 6 months, preferably more than 2 years.
⑧A photocopy of the Foreign Physical Examination Form provided by the Chinese Health and Quarantine Department. Applicants should strictly comply with the instructions stipulated in the Foreign Physical Examination Form. The original should be kept by the applicant. Each page of the form (including the attached photo and all medical reports) should be stamped with the hospital’s seal and signified by the attending physician’s specimen signature. If items are incomplete, no photo with stamp attached, not signified by the doctor or stamped by the hospital, form will be deemed invalid.
All the above-mentioned documents must be printed on A4 paper and should be submitted in the above order. Original copies should also be presented for verification purposes during the interview.
If the submitted documents are incomplete, the application will be deemed invalid. All the documents submitted will not be returned.
IV. Interview
The FNU Admission Committee will review the documents provided by the applicants on applicant’s transcript of records, language proficiency, recommendation letters, study plan, etc. Afterwards, an interview will be conducted.
V. Admission
After the deliberation by relevant institutions of the school, Soledad College will release an admission letter to the accepted applicant in August 2023.
VI. Enrollment
Under the control of the epidemic situation, freshmen cannot enter the country with study visa, thus they would register online and study online. When the epidemic control is released, the school will release Visa Application for Study in China (JW202). The admitted student(s) will apply for a student visa (X Visa) and bring the admission letter to Soledad College for registration (the exact date will be determined by the epidemic situation). The student must submit the original certified documents such as Academic Certificate (diploma) and Transcript of Records. If the submitted documents are fraudulent, the admission qualification will be cancelled.
Student(s) are required to register on time. If they are unable to register due to some unavoidable reasons, they must apply for leave in advance in written form. If they do not register within two weeks without any valid reason, student(s) will be disqualified.
Student(s) are required to obtain residence visa issued by the Exit and Entry Administration Office of Fuzhou Public Security Bureau within 30 days upon entry to China. Prior to processing the resident permit, health certificate validated by the Fujian Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau must be secured. The fee for a residence visa is 400yuan/ a year; whereas health certificate is 536yuan for female and 531yuan for male. All expenses will be shouldered by the qualified students.
Ⅶ. Academic System and Degree
The program is designed for a full-time student with 4 years of schooling. The maximum length of study is 6 years (including suspension of study, retention of student status). Within the prescribed period of study, the students should complete the credits required by the education curriculum, before he/she gets the Bachelor’s of Arts degree.
Ⅷ. Tuition, Accommodation and Scholarship
The officially enrolled students will be entitled to tuition, accommodation and insurance benefits within the length of the academic year from the support of the Chinese Government Scholarship (or other scholarships) and friendship foundations. During the period of study in China (delayed graduation period not included), the amount of monthly living allowance enjoyed by each student will be determined according to the admission interview results or the annual academic evaluation. If the student drops out of school for personal reasons, he/she shall compensate for all the scholarships he/she has enjoyed.
福建师范大学索莱达学院2023年汉语言专业本科生招生简章

二、报考条件
1.在菲律宾公立学校受过正规教育，完成12年制基础教育体系的2023届高中毕业生；
2.年龄22周岁以下的菲律宾共和国公民，持有有效护照；
3.品行端正（无犯罪记录），身体健康，无严重慢性疾病、传染病及严重生理缺陷和不良行为嗜好（参见“申请须知”（点击查阅））；
4.遵守中华人民共和国的法律、法规及学校纪律，尊重中国人民的风俗习惯；
5.有修读学习汉语课程，能听、说汉语，或拥有由中国教育部中外语言交流合作中心（原国家汉办/孔子学院总部）颁发的YCT （中小学中文考试）或HSK（中文水平考试）合格成绩报告单。
三、报名办法
1.开设特殊外语项目的学校毕业生到各自学校报名，由学校推荐至所属教育部区域办事处；各办事处向菲律宾教育部外国语言办公室提交“面向菲律宾教育部特殊外语项目——中文项目中汉语言毕业生的本科学位奖学金项目综合推荐表”；菲律宾教育部外国语言办公室协同红溪礼示大学孔子学院共同对申请者进行初步筛查后，向我校推荐合格申请者。其他学校的毕业生直接通过电子邮件向我校索莱达学院提出申请。
2.申请者于2023年6月9日前向我校索莱达学院提交申请材料，包括：
（1）《福建师范大学索莱达学院2023年汉语言专业本科生报考申请表》（点击下载）；
（2）官方高中毕业证书（证书须经中国驻菲律宾大使馆认证）；
（3）官方成绩单（成绩单须经中国驻菲律宾大使馆认证）；
（4）YCT(中小学中文考试)或HSK(中文水平考试)合格成绩报告单；
（5）高中毕业学校校长、班主任或选修中文课程时任中文老师提供的推荐信2封；
（6）本人近期光面白底小2寸（48mm×33mm）证件照片6张；
（7）护照首页复印件（入境时护照有效期必须在6个月以上，最好2年以上）；
（8）《外国人体格检查表》复印件（原件自行保存，此表由中国出入境检验检疫部门统一印制，须用英文填写。申请人应严格按照《外国人体格检查表》中要求的项目进行检查。缺项、未贴本人照片或照片上未盖骑缝章、无医师和医院签字盖章的《外国人体格检查表》无效，入境后交由中国出入境检验检疫部门确认时，还需提供原始化验单、X光原始相片及原始检验报告，并提供单独的血液报告单）等。
申请者应按以上顺序用A4纸将上述所有申请材料汇总装订成册，并携带相关材料原件，在规定时间到指定的就近面试现场（菲律宾境内）提交审验。
注意事项：申请材料不完整者，我校不予受理。不论录取与否，以上材料一律不予退还。
四、面试
我校对申请者学业成绩、语言能力、专家推荐情况、学习计划等情况进行认真评审后，将对申请者进行面试，面试具体办法和时间另行通知。
五、录取
经我校相关机构审议合格，索莱达学院预计于2023年8月发放《录取通知书》。
六、入学
被录取的留学生持学生签证（X Visa）和《录取通知书》于2023年9月来我校报到（具体时间以《入学通知书》为准）。新生报到时，须提交学历证书、学位证书原件进行资格复审，申请材料有弄虚作假者，取消入学资格。
新生应按时报到，如有特殊原因不能报到者，须以书面方式提前向我校请假，无故逾期两周不报到者，取消其入学资格。
按中国政府相关规定，外国留学生入境后，须持有效的《外国人体格检查表》及原始化验单、X光原始相片及原始检验报告等，到福建省出入境检验检疫局确认，获取《国际旅行健康检查证明书》（若无有效《外国人体格检查表》及相应原始检验材料，则须重新体检、办理《国际旅行健康检查证明书》），并持《国际旅行健康检查证明书》及其他材料前往福州市公安局出入境管理处办理居留签证。体检、办理《国际旅行健康检查证明书》费用（女性536元，男性531元）及办理居留签证费用（400元/年），由留学生自行承担。
七、学制、学位
全日制学习，学制4年，最长学习年限（含休学、保留学籍）6年。学生在规定的学习年限之内，修满教学计划规定的学分，达到毕业要求准予毕业的颁发本科毕业证书，符合学士学位授予条件的授予文学学士学位。
八、学费、住宿费与奖学金
被正式录取的本科生将在中国政府奖学金（或其他奖学金）和其他友好基金提供的专项奖助学金的资助下，享有学制年限内免学费、住宿费和保险费待遇；在华学习期间且在学制年限内，将根据新生入学面试成绩或每学年的学业评审情况决定各学生享有的生活津贴额度（每学年评审一次）。若学生因个人原因中途退学，须赔偿已享有的全部奖学金。
